British-Armenian B2B Networking Event took place on March 9 and 10 2017 in DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Ealing London. The selected Armenian IT companies were there to introduce their innovative IT solutions and services to the British Audience.
The opening of the “British-Armenian B2B Networking Event” was announced by Hayarpi Drmeyan from the Embassy of Armenia in the United Kingdom. Afterwards Artashes Davtyan from the British Embassy Yerevan took the stage talking about the significance of the Initiation between the two countries.
Andranik Aleksanyan from Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Armenia and Karen Gevorgyan from SME DNC of Armenia also had brief speeches welcoming the project and the Participants.
Straight after the welcoming speeches presentation of the “Why Armenia” concept was done by Matt Bartelsian which followed by the individual presentations of the Participant Armenian IT companies. Afterwards we had the networking sessions and all the pre-registered and on spot B2B meetings.
On the second day after a short welcoming speech by the organizers the invited speakers took the stage to present the British business environment and opportunities for foreign companies. There were four key speakers outsourced for the second day of the Event who would present the British side.
The first speaker was Terry Mankertz the Head of IT Sector, Department for International Trade UK. Mr. Mankertz talked about British business environment, opportunities for foreign companies to enter the UK market, UK legislation and market specialties.
Joanna Dodd- Managing Director of Rochester PR Group was the second speaker of the day. Ms. Dodd did a presentation on how PR helps de-risk a market entry giving valuable advices to the companies and sharing her experience in the field.
Next speaker was Andrew Dakers the co-chair of Ealing business partnership. Mr. Dakers first did a presentation on the opportunities and support the Ealing business partnership provides to IT startups then two of his colleagues Aarif Mirza and Ameer Mirza joined the Q&A to bring the perspective of two Ealing companies to bear on discussions.
The last speaker of the day was Eden Dwen a Member of the KPMG Tech Growth team. Mr. Dwen did a very useful presentation on “Navigating the tech ecosystem and doing business in the UK”. The presentation followed by a very active Q&A session and everyone moved to the networking space and individual meetings.
